Sculpture from Life - Mondays 7-9pm at KIAC
Running March 25th 2019 - May 6th 2019 (no session April 8th).
When these sessions are running, please visit the Facebook Page, to check availability of places at the next session. If there is space, please contact Andrew on 07474 373673, email [email protected] or fill in the form below if you wish to attend. (£10 per person, to be paid at the session)
On Mondays at KIAC you can make a figure or portrait sculpture in clay, working from a life model, with sculptor Andrew Spencer. All the materials and equipment that you need to create a small figure or head are provided. Andrew will help with basic techniques for working with clay and advice on making your sculpture suitable for firing in a kiln.
The model will hold the same pose over several sessions so that more experienced artists can produce a larger, sustained piece of work over a number of weeks. Using a stand with wheels, you will be able to move around the model and work from all angles - ‘sculpting in the round‘ - which is vital for working effectively in three dimensions. To help make sure everyone can move freely, spaces at each session are limited to 8, so please check availability if you are coming for the first time. After that, you can book for subsequent weeks of the same pose if you want to spend more time completing your piece. |
The price of £72 for the 6 sessions, includes hire of the life model, use of all equipment and provision of a quantity of clay to get you started. Also includes tea/coffee and biscuits during the break. Extra bags of clay are available to purchase separately for those wanting to work on larger pieces.
Sculpture from Life sessions are organised through a Facebook Page. Please visit the page to see what's happening, check on availability of space at the sessions and find out more about it. You can see all the information there even if you are not on Facebook. If you are on Facebook, you can also book a place by commenting or messaging the page.
